DOG LICENSING
Pennsylvania State Law mandates that all dogs 3 months of age or older must be licensed. Dog Licenses must be purchased by January 1st of each year REGARDLESS of when the license was purchased the previous year. State Dog Wardens are performing "License and Rabies Compliance Checks" throughout the Commonwealth using PADogLicense.com Real Time system to track unlicensed dogs. State Dog Wardens may issue fines up to $300.00 plus court cost per dog for violation of this law.

Annual dog licenses may be purchased online, by mail, or in person.
To register your dog(s) online, please visit this link.
To register your dog(s) by mail, please complete the dog license application for each dog.
Completed forms can be submitted with payment made payable to McKean County Treasurer to:

To register your dog(s) in person, stop in and visit us at the McKean County Treasurer’s Office, located in the Courthouse, 500 W Main St, Smethport.
LIFETIME DOG LICENSES
In order to purchase a Lifetime License, your dog must either be microchipped or tattooed. You must then submit the Permanent Identification Verification Form with your Lifetime Dog License application otherwise we cannot process it.
Lifetime dog licenses may be purchased by mail or in person.
To receive a lifetime registration for your dog(s) by mail, please complete the lifetime dog license application for each dog, along with having your veterinarian complete the permanent identification verification form.
