The Planning Commission is responsible for:
- Preparation of the McKean County Comprehensive Plan
- Administration of County Subdivision and Land Development Ordinance in 18 of 22 municipalities
- Review proposed zoning and subdivision and land development amendments
- Preparing & Prioritizing a list of highway/bridge projects for the PennDOT 12-Year Program
- Provide professional planning and technical assistance to local planning commissions/governments, as well as citizens
- FEMA Flood maps & flooding determinations
- Zoning maps from the 10 zoned municipalities in the County
- County plans such as the Stormwater Management Plan, Solid Waste Plan, Hazard Mitigation Plan, Community Wildfire Protection Plan, Greenways Plan, Comprehensive Plan
- Topographic Maps
- Headwaters RC&D Council
- Lumber Heritage Region
- North Central PA Rural Planning Organization
- North Central PA Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy
- PA Route 6 Alliance
- PA Wilds
